After shooting in Historic Downtown St. George, we headed to Ivins, UT to finish off their engagement session in this pretty golden field. It’s the perfect spot if you don’t want all the red rock/desert vibes the area is usually known for. It ended up being pretty windy and a little chilly for the Vegas couple, but they are laid back and just enjoyed it. I actually really love the movement and mood the wind adds to a session! It was so fun and I LOVE the shots we got here!

Jake is my cousin and his fiancé Katie is just the best! They are so great together! They are getting married next June and I’m so excited for them! They live in Las Vegas, but came up to St. George for their engagements while we were there for spring break. I’m so glad it worked out, because it was so good to see them. I loved doing their engagement photos for them. I always take way too many photos when I photograph my own family haha. We started out in Historic Downtown St. George at the cutest carousel, walked a few streets and then headed to Ivin’s, UT to the prettiest golden field (I’m going to post those in a separate blog). Cloudy Saltair Family Session | Preece Family

Lauren and I high jumped together at Utah State back in our prime. We traveled all over together and had so many good times! We haven’t gotten together for a while, so it was so fun to see her and her beautiful family again! Saltair is definitely one of my favorite locations. It was so sunny all day and then turned overcast right before the session, which added some pretty blue/gray skies. It ended up being a little chilly and Lauren adjusted everyone’s outfits last minute and just rolled with it. The kids did so great and I think they turned out so beautiful!

Modern Kid’s Portraits | Personal Post

I have started shooting more Modern School Portraits lately. I’m loving it and so are the parents! They are such a fun way to show your child’s personality. You get 3-5 adorable poses instead of that one forced smile you usually get from school photos. I use a modern seamless backdrop, so the end result is something you actually want to print and hang in your home! Here are some examples of portraits I took of my own kids in the fall. My dad hung a large print of each kid in his house and it turned out SO cute!

Lifestyle Commercial Session | Oilo Studio

This lifestyle commercial session was shot in fall 2020 for Oilo Studio. If you are expecting a baby and aren’t familiar with them, you need to check them out! They have the most beautiful nursery furniture, bedding and accessories. Their gliders are a DREAM! I wish I had gotten one back when I was nursing my first baby. They are so comfy for rocking that sweet babe (or taking a quick nap in). We shot three different collections and all of them are currently available on their website.

I shot this senior session this past fall and it was so fun! Jordan Pines is located up Big Cottonwood Canyon and is a great fall location! It’s gorgeous, easy to access and adds the perfect amount of fall color without being overwhelming.

My Family Photos | Personal Post

I am finally getting around to showing you more of my own family photos from November. I actually wasn’t going to schedule family photos in the fall, I was planning on waiting until spring. But our baby Will was just so smiley and happy that I HAD to have photos of him! And wouldn’t you know it, he was so serious and somber the whole time haha! We got one shot of him smiling and you better believe I have it hanging on my wall. It was a great reminder not to go into family photos with high expectations for your kids. However they are during photos is just perfect. I want to remember those somber looks too. How they reach for me when they’re sad and that mischievous grin when they are naughty. It’s ALL important and worth documenting. Even though he wasn’t his normal, smiley self, I don’t love the photos any less.

In-Home Newborn Session | Baby Charlotte

Baby Charlotte is my newest niece and and I have been looking forward to doin an in-home newborn session with her! This day was the first time I met her, she was just 8 days old. She is the sweetest little thing! The whole family is clearly obsessed with her, but watching her siblings with her was my favorite. They just adore her! She will be well watched over, protected and spoiled by them. There is already such a special sibling bond between them all. I’m excited to see her personality develop and I can’t wait to get her in front of my camera again! Welcome to the family baby Charlotte!
