William + Lifestyle Newborn Session

Sweet little William joined his family two weeks ago. We scheduled his session for one week after he was born. I personally like shooting newborn sessions as soon as possible. They change and grow so quickly, so I love capturing that fresh newborn look. It’s also helpful that they are still really sleepy and cuddly! I treat in-home newborn sessions like a family session with an emphasis on the new baby. Welcoming a new baby is a big deal for the whole family, so I like to include everyone!

In-home newborn sessions are some of my favorites and this one was no exception! I love the “lifestyle” feel. It’s much more natural and timeless. I treat newborn sessions as a family session, with an emphasis on the newborn. Documenting the entire family celebrating the new arrival is so special!

Tess Jamie turns one

 

One year ago today, at 3:00 am, I woke up to my first contraction. A short 3 hours later, our sweet Tess entered this world. Since my first baby was born, we have moved so we now live about 30 minutes from the hospital. In the weeks leading up to my due date, my husband John kept worrying I was going to have the baby in the car on the way to the hospital.
