Seth + Senior Session
I had a great time hanging out with Seth and his mom during his session. His mom, Courtnee, was one of my mom’s best friends, so she will always have a special place in my heart. Personal Photos + Black & White Film
Sometimes I shoot film for fun. Mostly for personal work. I love how it pushes me to try new things, learn more and slow down a little. It’s fun not to be able to see the final image right away. I just got back some scans today and thought I would share some of my experiments with you. While there are quite a few that turn out blurry, I got a handful that I really love! Technically, most of them are still really bad haha but they are of my people so they still give me all the feels!
Favorite Makeup Artists
Getting ready to be in front of the camera can be stressful! One of the best ways to reduce that stress is to get your makeup professionally done. All of a sudden getting ready is relaxing! You just show up and let the pro take over. They know exactly how to apply makeup in a way that looks AMAZING on camera, but still looks like you. I hired Jill Marie the last time I got my photos taken, and I can’t say enough great things about her. She is so sweet and talented! Utah has so many talented makeup artists and I included a list of my favorites below so you can refer back to it next time you schedule a photo session!

Finding the Light
These photos were taken in just a few minutes in my living room one morning. Ava is at the age where she gets really excited when I want to take pictures of her, so it’s fun. Tess is hard to get to cooperate haha. I swear she has the energy of 5 toddlers some days! Today was kind of a rough mom day. The kids fought a lot and did very little listening when I tried to break them up. It was a long day! I edited these photos after I put them to bed, and it was such a nice reminder that they do actually love each other and get along really well most days. And they are pretty dang cute if I do say so myself! I’m so lucky I get to be their mom. I think I will go sneak an extra kiss from these sleeping angels before I go to bed.
Livi + SLC Temple Baptism Session
Editing these photos made me happy and sad at the same time. Happy because she looks so beautiful and full of joy, but sad because she looks so old to me. Beautiful Livi is my niece and I love her to pieces! She made me laugh so. dang. hard. the entire session! She was poppin’ her hip and throwin’ down poses left and right. So much confidence and sass! I hope she never loses that and is always her beautiful, unique self. Happy baptism day Livi Lou! I’m so proud.
Behunin Family + Temple Quarry Trail
It’s funny to me that meeting new people is one of my favorite parts of photography, because I’m actually an introvert and naturally pretty shy. I’m grateful that it pushes me out of my comfort zone and I get to meet wonderful people like the Behunins. Their kids are so cute! I love seeing their little personalities come out in front of my camera. They recently moved back to Utah and I’m lucky they chose me to take some new family photos for them. They came to my fall mini sessions and the weather was perfect with the most gorgeous fall colors! Welcome back to Utah Behunin Family!
