I’m so excited to share this session with you all! It has been in the works since October of last year when Dana was nominated for one of my Photos for Jamie sessions for breast cancer survivors. These sessions are inspired by my mother, who we lost to this horrible disease four years ago. Dana received the most nominations and it’s no surprise why! I can’t believe how strong and positive she has remained after all she has gone through; she is so deserving! She has wonderful family and friends that have supported and loved her all along the way. You can tell her family is her pride and joy! I hope her family treasures these photos for years to come.

I hadn’t seen this sweet family since I shot Owen’s newborn photos. He has grown so much and it was so fun to watch him run around, he was having the best time! I had a great time at their session and it was so nice to see them again. Emily is the sweetest! She always sends such kind messages after she opens her gallery. One of my favorite parts of this job is seeing how much the final images mean to the client. Thanks for having me again Carter family!!!

Ava graduated from preschool last week. It wasn’t quite what her teacher had in mind, and I feel bad for that but she did an amazing job of still making them feel special! It was so fun to see how proud Ava was to finish, even is she was a little sad she won’t be seeing her friends every week. They learn and grow so fast! I can’t believe she will be starting Kindergarten in the fall. I am not ok with it.
P.S. We absolutely LOVED Ava’s teacher, so if anyone is looking for a preschool in the Taylorsville/West Jordan area get in touch with me!

Abbie is my second cousin and my mom always had a special place in her heart for her. She has the sweetest family now, and I’m so glad I was able to photograph them! I have gotten them in front of my camera twice lately, because we did some front porch pictures recently as well. I had a great time with them and love watching their cute kids interact with each other. They are so fun!

This session is a special one. Courtnee (in the green skirt) was one of my mom’s best friends. She remembered me saying I wish I had more photos of my mom and I together, so she booked this session for her mom for Mother’s Day. I love that they made getting all the women in their family photographed a priority! The photos turned out beautiful and we had a good time. They definitely kept me laughing! I adore the close relationships they all have, it was a joy to capture. I hope these are cherished in their family for generations.

Another senior that had their school year cut short, but Seth didn’t seem to mind too much haha. It sounds like he was missing the social aspect/celebrating with friends more than anything. He’s so easy-going and made this session a breeze! Congrats Seth, good luck in all you do!

I honestly don’t understand how my first baby is already 5! It’s going by so fast and I’m not a fan of her being so grown-up. I will be sending her to kindergarten this year and I’m trying not to think about it. Of course, she can’t wait and I know she will love it! We had fun celebrating her birthday yesterday with just our little family. We had planned a trip to Vegas over her birthday to visit my aunt and she was a good sport about having to cancel. Happy Birthday Ava girl! We love you!

I’m so excited to share the first session from my Photos for Jamie giveaway. If you aren’t aware, it’s a nomination process I do gifting women with breast cancer a family photo session. If you want to learn more about it and why it’s so important to me, you can click here. With all the treatments, heartache and cancer fighting these brave women are doing, it’s been harder than anticipated to get these sessions scheduled, but I’m hopeful we will get them all done and be able to share with you all!
Katie is one of the amazing women that was part of Photos for Jamie. She is a beautiful, strong woman who is also a wife and mother to 6! She was diagnosed in the fall of 2019 and is currently fighting her battle with breast cancer. Another generous photographer donated this session, Emily of Farnsworth Photo Co.
About her session, Katie said:
“We LOVE the photos, the whole experience was really fun and bonding for our family at a tough moment in our lives. It proved to be a very positive thing, thank you again!”
The joy and love that shines through these photos, even during a really challenging time in their lives, is incredibly beautiful!

I’m so flattered that families from my hometown have been traveling here for their sessions with me! This family just had their brother Bowdie (far right) return from his mission two weeks ago, so it was so fun to see them together again! This family has a special place in my heart. Four years ago they lost their mom and little brother in a car accident. It was so devastating for them and heartbreaking for our little community. They could have used that as an excuse not to get family photos done, but they didn’t. Their mom would be so proud of them for making this happen. It has made me realize I need to make sure I still get family photos with my dad and brothers. Thanks so much Jacobson family, I had a great time with you!
